The origins of Castellare di Tonda can be traced back to the Strozzis, a noble florentine family who, at the peak of their wealth, bought houses and land and turned them into the beautiful Piaggia estate called Castellare di Tonda. Here are ancient and beautiful houses (twelve farmsteads accurately renovated are scattered around the 280-hectare historic estate at 300 metres above sea level) built in the Tuscan-style tradition and surrounded by silvery olive groves and sloping-down vineyards, oak woods and gentle hills.
The Scotti family have had the old farmhouses carefully restructured according to traditional Tuscan architectural traditions, thus restoring the buildings to their former splendour.
